Portland: City Hotels and Accommodation
The most popular hotels is the area lie in the very heart of the city, which is approximately 9 miles / 14 km to the southwest of Portland International Airport (PDX). Here you will find accommodation to suit most budgets, although hotel rates can be quite high during the height of the peak season, between July and August, quickly dropping as winter approaches.
Popular with those traveling on a tight budget, a number of chain motels reside on the outskirts of the city, along the I-95, around Exit 8. Hotels are also concentrated in the city's main districts, as follows.
Cultural District
Full of cultural attractions for all ages, hotels in this part of Portland are conveniently located close to art galleries, museums and theaters. Worthy of a mention, the Inn and Park Spring is situated near to the Portland Museum of Art, along Spring Street, and is an appealing and historic building, dating back to the 1830s.
Hawthorne District
Without doubt the Portland's funkiest area, the Hawthorne district exudes a distinctive Bohemian atmosphere, featuring an interesting selection of ethnic eateries, cafés and specialty shops on offer. Lloyd District
